Statistical Analysis of Real Process Scrap
Širjovová, Zuzana ; Karpíšek, Zdeněk (referee) ; Bednář, Josef (advisor)
Quality, as well as stability of processes check is nowadays gaining on its significance. The main driving force of its increasing importance is the rapid expansion of series production. Large-scale manufacturing processes are concerned, in terms of the number of operators, direct and indirect influence on rejects, but also on process stability. There are several quality characteristics, defined by utility properties, that can be easily measurable (linear dimensions, solidity, elongation, humidity, concentration) or directly immeasurable, mostly subjective (fragrance, taste, color, comfort while using, appearance). Statistical Process Control-SPC features the preventive tool of quality control, because based on the early detection of significant divergences of the process from the predetermined level, it is possible to execute interventions in the process with the aim of maintaining the acceptable and stable level and improving the process. This manufacturing process check will be the topic of my thesis. At first, Shewhart's control charts analysis will be done to determine strong process instability. Consequently, analysis will be carried out in test chi-square, used to determine the influence of each factor on the process of stability (operators, type of shift, type of product, type of defect on the product). All the practical part will be processed in statistical software MINITAB15. The thesis will be complemented by the findings from the examination of the features of interval estimates of parameter p for binomial distribution - numeric stability in the various statistical software (specifically Minitab 15, Statistica, Matlab 7.8.0). Master's thesis was supported by project from MSMT of the Czech Republic no. 1M06047 Center for Quality and Reliability of Production.
Optimization for the design of subsystems of energy-producing processes
Janošťák, František ; Bednář, Josef (referee) ; Pavlas, Martin (advisor)
This bachelor thesis focuses on the design of a combustion grate. The key factor is the lower heating value of waste, which has been modelled based on the data obtained from a real combustion grate. The goal is to develop a combustion grate, which will function effectively whilst changing the lower heating values. Possible scenarios of the problem are mathematically formulated and implenented in GAMS enviroment. The outcome of this work are the parameters of the combustion grate.
Statistic Review of Parameters of Fire Rescue Service's Interventions in Traffic Accidents in South Bohemia
PETRŮV, Josef
Fire Rescue Service is territorialized in each region, which means that Fire Rescue Service is present in each region of the Czech Republic as an individual accounting entity. Each accounting entity is obliged to prepare own budget estimate for next year which serves for covering costs related to interventions. Therefore it is beneficial to have an overview about the number of interventions expected in following year. The prediction of the expected interventions should be based utmost on real data from the the last period. Fire Rescue Service units' interventions in traffic accidents are covered from the state budget as well as other performances. The thesis is concerning the statistic survey related to Fire Rescue Service's interventions in traffic accidents. Specified goals of the thesis: G1) The survey of the development in time of the number of traffic accidents associated with South Bohemia Fire Rescue Service's interventions in traffic accidents within one month as the unit of time during the last 5 years. It is considered as the survey of the first of selected parameters concerning Fire Rescue Service's interventions in traffic accidents in the South Bohemia region. G2) The survey of the development in time of costs associated with South Bohemia Fire Rescue Service's interventions in traffic accidents within one month as the unit of time during the last 5 years. It is considered as the survey of the second of selected parameters related to Fire Rescue Service's interventions in traffic accidents in the South Bohemia region. G3) The comparison of the number of interventions and costs, the investigation of the apportionment of the number of interventions and costs in terms of a proper theoretical apportionment. It is considered as the survey concerning the dependence of selected parameters of Fire Rescue Service's interventions in traffic accidents in the South Bohemia region. With regard to a relativelly high number of primary data (entries from about 8 000 traffic accidents in the time period between 7/2010 and 6/2015 in the South Bohemia region, where was always present at least one unit of the South Bohemia Fire Rescue Service), mathematical statistic tools were needed to create a survey of selected parameters of the data file. Determining intervals for individual statistic features is to some extent carried out "by feeling". With regard to it, there was done the sensitivity analysis within which was investigated the influence of minor changes in the number of intervals on apportionment of percent occurrences of monitored statistical features (intervals were determined "by feeling" and based on recommendation from technical literature). For investigation of statistical features were used description statistics and also methods of statistical induction. The information used from technical literature and the interpretation of partial results and conclusions concerning individual sections of the thesis are provided in the section Discussion. The thesis demonstrated that the empirical apportionment of the number of traffic accidents and costs on South Bohemia Fire Rescue Service's interventions in traffic accidents can be considered as standard. Therefore it is correct to use theoretical findings associated with standard apportionment to work with those data. Also the thesis demonstrated that the number of traffic accidents and costs associated with South Bohemia Fire Rescue Service's interventions not only does not decrease but on the contrary increases. It was demonstrated that there is present very high positive correlation between numbers of the traffic accidents and the costs related to South Bohemia Fire Rescue Service's interventions in single months of the monitored time period. This brings us to a conclusion that the increase of costs related to interventions is caused mainly by the increase of the number of traffic accidents where the units of Fire Rescue Service intervene.
Analysis of a biofuel use in a truck transport in a selected company
Dolský, František ; Hlavsa, Tomáš (advisor) ; Procházková, Radka (referee)
This bachelor thesis is concerned with the comparison between the utilization of biodiesel and diesel as fuel in truck transportation. The thesis contains a theoretical part, which describes primarily the current state of truck transportation in the Czech Republic. It further inquires into current and historic politics of biofuel support, including its impact on state budget. Also described are the most used biofuels, specifically biodiesel, whose comparison with diesel is the main subject of the thesis. The Czech market with biofuels is also discussed. The practical part includes a description of a specific transport company, particularly its vehicle fleet. The results of measurements of biodiesel consumption are further summarized, alongside with the expenses associated with repairs and maintenance of the fuel systems of trucks. This data is analyzed using the tools of mathematical statistics, and the results are evaluated in the thesis.

Statistical hypothesis testing using sports data
Černý, Jakub ; Malá, Ivana (advisor) ; Čabla, Adam (referee)
This bachelor thesis is based on empirical study of betting odds of six world-wide betting offices. Using statistical hypothesis testing it tests similarity among offices predictions of five best football leagues and whether the predictions correspond with final results of these games. It has been demonstrated that betting offices predict matches identically but predictions does not correspond with final results. In the second part of this paper, the betting offices are experimentally treated as bettors and their return on investment is monitored. From the comparison of returns and mean squared error of predictions, betting offices Bet365 and BetVictor can be considered as those with the best predictions. Analysis of Fortel servis betting diary has shown that using betting advisory service can lead to long-term profits. It is a proof that betting offices can be beaten over a long time which was also one of the objectives of this paper.
